Wizz Air, the largest low-cost, low-fare airline in Central and Eastern Europe, announced this week (13/02/12) that it will begin services from Debrecen Airport (DEB) in Hungary as of 18 June 2012. The airline will initially offer three weekly flights, on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from Debrecen to London Luton Airport (LTN), offering convenient access to London city centre and other regions in Central England.
Despite Malév Hungarian Airlines, the national flag carrier of Hungary, ceasing operations on 03 February 2012, Hungary remains a very accessible tourism destination for UK travellers due to new airlines entering the market and the increased capacities of the existing airlines and other travel trade partners (coach and rail.)
